The Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy was established in 1974 by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation, the best Bengali of the millennium, to present the art and culture of Bangladesh to the world with the slogan "Creative Bangladesh" in mind. District Shilpakala Academies have been established in 64 districts of the country at the regional level to highlight the art and culture of the remote areas of the country. Training on music, dance, fine arts, instrumental music (tabla) recitation and drama was given at District Shilpakala Academy, Narsingdi. Besides, the work of highlighting the culture of the district is continuing.
